What truly makes us happy? How do we navigate pain and setbacks in life? What can you hold on to as security – Is it money, fame, networks, legacy, or power?
Spiritual traditions across the world have sought answers to these questions and found that none of the above provide lasting happiness. The true answers lie within ourselves, in the connection we share with the universal force. More than any technology, we need to understand our mind. More than developing Artificial Intelligence, we need to understand the Intelligence in Nature – how nature works, the cycle of cause and consequences that governs our life. When we grasp the true purpose of life and what truly brings joy or pain, the ups and downs of life will continue, but we’ll be able to ride the waves rather than be toppled by them.
Every knowledge tradition has preserved a treasury of stories, myths, ideas, and societal norms that answer these questions. This is wisdom for life – passed down through generations. In a way , this is a heirloom more valuable than any estate, treasure or talisman we could inherit.
I have opened and looked into the (spiritual) treasure of my father and grandfather. My mind was filled with the wealth of bliss.
(Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Ang 185)
It is wisdom that not only prepares us for life’s challenges but also reveals the hidden beauty and mysteries they contain. It equips us to rise above difficulties, discovering meaning along the way.
So what is the wisdom for life that the Sikh Gurus have left us? How can it guide us in facing life’s challenges? Can this wisdom be applied practically, and are there people who truly live by it?
These are the questions we explore at Sikhia. If they resonate with you, join us on this journey. Dive into our blog, support our mission, share your insights, or reach out with your thoughts.
